My life has been greatly influenced by my experiences living in multiple cultures - the ancient magic of my Celtic roots in Ireland,

the Warao indians in the Orinoco delta in Venezuala,

the sounds of the primal Amazon jungle in Guyana,

and the excitement and colours of Brazil...

_bio_

I am _new_media_artist living in Berlin, Germany since 2016.

I was born in Ireland, studied a PhD in France and ended up in Brazil for many years... via a somewhat prolonged adventure in the Amazon jungle in Guyana and Venezuela.

I have been exploring new media art and technology for many years and built my first touchless piano in 2005. At that time, motion-tracking interfaces became a focus, and I have iterated through a number of prototypes since then. In 2008, Trinity College Dublin was where I formalised my education in the art field, through the renowned Masters in Music & Media Technologies. I specialised in interactive performance and composition.

With a hybrid background in new media arts, composition and science, interdisciplinarity is my playing field. My works bridge participatory/collaborative cultures and digital environments. Interactivity is the medium I use to probe the blurring boundaries between performer/audience and live sound/visuals. I blend emergent media and technology with visual art, electroacoustic composition and the performing arts.

Recently, I have also contributed to the education sector by bringing new media art seminars and workshops to secondary schools and universities.
